Our liquid cargo handling simulator models are based on real ships. Different simulator configurations are available. The cargo control room may be represented by any combination of interactive mimic panels, operational panels, consoles and/or desk-top stations.

STCW requirements

The CHS meets the requirements of STCW section A-II/1, A-II/2, A-II/3, A-III/1, A-III/2 and A-V/1 that states the requirements for planning and ensuring safe loading, care during the voyage and unloading of cargoes as well as maintaining seaworthiness of the ship regarding trim, stability and stress.

DNV Certification

Our models are certified by Det Norske Veritas "Class A, B and C - Cargo Handling" and found to comply with STCW for training purposes.

Instructor station

The instructor station includes facilities to build scenarios, debrief, evaluate and replay exercises. Debriefing equipment includes large screen projectors, on-line automatic evaluation system, log and colour printers. The evaluation system makes structured and objective student assessment possible.

Cargo control room equipment

Different simulator configurations are available. The cargo control room may be represented by any combination of interactive mimic panels, operational panels/consoles or desk-top stations. Our concept allows individually laid out control rooms to meet exact customer requirements. The system can be upgraded or expanded at any time during it’s life span, and is based on a “flow down” principle, using the same core software for all configurations.

Surveillance camera

A Closed Circuit TV surveillance camera function can be integrated into the Neptune Cargo Handling Simulator, giving students a more complete training scenario. As in live operations, the CCTV mode will give the student/operator the ability to see what is going on at the manifold, to check for instance, if the loading arm is connected or if there is an oil or gas leak.

Knowledge and understanding

The simulator is designed to meet the demands for basic training of cadets as well as advanced training of deck officers in the understanding and handling of the ships loading and discharging equipment.
