Clothing and safety equipment

In general the size of the logo placed on clothing should neither be too large to seem flashy, nor to small to go unnoticed. Do not include other text elements!

The requirements to work cloths and safety equipment are based on the requirements for offshore work in the North Sea.

Work cloths

Work cloths should meet European standard EN ISO 1162 A1 A2 B1 C1: Protective clothing for industrial workers exposed to heat, excluding welding and fire fighting or an equivalent standard.

By work cloths we understand cloths worn by our installation and support personnel.

  • Have the cloths made out of nonflammable material, since some owners / operators have strict rules about this.
  • Include a colour logo on the left breast / breast pocket about 30 - 40 mm wide.
  • Include a colour logo on the back about 140 - 150 mm wide.
  • Select style and colours to suit the climate, people should be comfortable wearing them. Consider orange, white, navy blue colours. If the cloths look good people will be proud to wear them.
  • Do not include other text elements!

Safety helmets

Safety helmets should meet European standard EN 397: Specification for industrial safety helmets, or an equivalent standard.

Helmet colours can signify different roles on construction sites. The most common colour scheme is white for managers, engineers, foremen or supervisors. Green often signifies a safety inspector, but it is also occasionally used for new workers. General labourers often wear yellow. Technical advisors, and temps may wear blue. Orange is sometimes used for new employees, or visitors.

  • Include a colour logo on the front of the helmet, about 25 mm wide.
  • Do not include other text elements!

Reflective safety vests

Some some owners / operators require use of reflective safety vests.

  • The vest colour should be high visibility orange or yellow and should include reflective tape and preferably made from a flame resistant material.
  • Include a colour logo on the left breast / breast pocket about 30 - 40 mm wide.
  • Include a colour logo on the back about 140 - 150 mm wide.
  • Do not include other text elements!

Eye protection

Eye protection should meet European standards EN 166: Personal eye protection. Specifications, EN 170: Personal eye-protection - Ultraviolet filters - Transmittance requirements and recommended use, EN 172: Specification for sunglare filters used in personal eye-protectors for industrial use or equivalent standards.

The use of logo is not required here.

Ear protection

Should meet the European EN 352: Standards on hearing protectors or an equivalent standard.

The use of logo is not required here.

Safety shoes

Safety shoes should meet European standard EN ISO 20345:2011: Requirements for safety footwear used for general purpose or an equivalent standard.

The use of logo is not required here.

Pique and T-shirts

Pique, T-shirts, golf shirts and tennis shirts may include one or two logos.

  • Select the logo variety for light or dark background as needed to create a contrast to the colour of the shirt.
  • Front: You may include a colour or monocrome logo on the left breast / breast pocket about 30 - 40 mm wide.
  • Back: You may Include a colour or monocrome logo on the back about 140 - 150 mm wide.
  • Do not include other text elements!
