12. December 2008

Kongsberg Maritime Inc., Houston, Texas, is being awarded an $11,000,000 fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to procure and / or design, develop and manufacture hardware, logistics support, spares, commercial technical manuals and associated data related to the manufacture and sustainment of the AMPHIB Low-Light Surveillance System Program. Work will be performed in Aberdeen, Scotland (80 percent) and Lakehurst NJ (20 percent) and is expected to be completed in December 2013.

This is a follow-on contract to original contracts awarded to Kongsberg Maritime in 2007. On the original contract, Kongsberg delivered 13 ships systems. The final system deliveries were completed successfully just last month (November 2008).

The new contract includes design upgrades to the original system equipment specifications and deliveries of a number of additional ships systems (the exact quantity is not specified as this is an IDIQ contract) for up to a five year period. The contract schedule for the next year will include the delivery of 3 ships systems.
